To assure quality applicants for teaching and non-teaching positions in school districts and local agencies, the San Joaquin County Office of Education’s Human Resources Department acts like a veritable “safety net.”

Through its highly-sophisticated electronic fingerprinting system, “LiveScan,” the office completes background checks on applicants for employment in school districts and agencies throughout the San Joaquin County and surrounding areas. This service assures that all new school employees have been thoroughly checked by the Department of Justice.

Fingerprinting Requirements

  • • Call (209) 468-9145 or email to schedule an appointment. Appointments are highly recommended but if time permits, we will allow walk-ins on a first come first serve basis.
  • • Bring all required items listed below to your appointment.
  • • All appointments will take place in the Nelson Building at 2922 Transworld Drive.

Please bring the following items to your appointment:

  • • Your appointment confirmation email; hard copy preferred
  • • A Government-issued identification (ID) with a picture
  • • A Live Scan form provided by your employer/licensing board/organization
  • • Payment (money order or credit/debit card only); No cash or personal checks will be accepted
  • • A blue or black pen
