one.Lodi focuses on developing writing, critical thinking, and computer literacy skills by integrating thematic curriculum and activities. All students are enrolled in the same courses for the entire school year, which include English, mathematics, biology, as well as media and art design. Each grading period students choose to take one elective course, which may include physical education, health, or social studies.

In order to best provide an appropriate level of skill development and academic rigor, students are grouped into core classes based on an evaluation of four areas that relate to their academic success including: 1) the amount of high school credits completed; 2) age/grade level; 3) demonstration of academic skills and knowledge; and 4) social maturity, incorporating attendance and disciplinary issues. Though each core class explores the same content, groupings allow teachers to modify the level of rigor, individual lesson strategies and activities, and academic/skill assessments that will best challenge students based on their abilities and development.

Biology: The Dynamics of Life is the thematic and integrated curriculum for the 2013-2014 school year. Throughout the year, students will analyze and demonstrate how scientific principles, human biology, nutrition, and plant biology are related to and enhanced by academic skills and knowledge in English language arts, algebra and geometry, and computer technology.

In the past eight years, one.Lodi staff built an deep and safe learning environment for all students. Most recently, students have daily or weekly access to computer technology in a structured, yet inquiry friendly academic environment.

Students seeking credit recovery or early graduation, will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of after school activities and extended courses over breaks in the academic calendar (November, December, and April). Students that meet the credit, behavior, and attendance requirements for such opportunities will be allowed to earn additional credit through Edmentum’s Plato Courseware, which is completed outside one.Lodi’s regular school schedule. Students may also earn additional credit by participating in other activities and coursework such as: music, the school-site garden, game customization and creation, as well as student leadership, and presentation opportunities.

one.Lodi's goal is to provide students with engaging and relevant academic study, literacy, and career skills that will provide each student with a strong foundation for their individual career and academic goals beyond high school.
