Come Back Kids
Come Back Kids (CBK) is a free, mostly online educational program that is offered through the SJCOE’s County Operated Schools and Programs Division that can help anyone 18 years and older earn their high school diploma. CBK is an independent study program that allows individuals the opportunity to complete the necessary coursework to obtain a high school diploma through flexible, individualized schedules. This program will help adults who have wanted to advance in their jobs or education, but have found that not having a high school diploma has held them back.
There are two program locations: Stockton and Manteca.
What to Expect:
- • At least one weekly appointment with a teacher.
- • Online coursework with program issued Chromebooks to complete online coursework.
- • WiFi availability in all classrooms.

To obtain a high school diploma students must complete 145 academic credits (including transferred credits):
|Visual Performing Arts
|Community Service (75 hours)*
*Community service hours can include time worked at a current job, job shadowing, or apprenticeship.

- What if I cannot meet with my teacher?
If a student cannot meet with your teacher on the scheduled meeting day and time, they must contact the teacher to reschedule. If more than two scheduled meetings with the teacher are missed and there is no attempt to reschedule, the student will be dropped from the program.
- What if I need extra help?
The classrooms will be open during the week for students to meet with their teacher beyond the required one-hour scheduled time. To utilize office hours, please contact your instructor. Students are encouraged to use the classrooms at their own time to complete the coursework. WiFi is available.
