In the Academic Pentathlon, teams of seventh- and eighth-graders vie in separate five-event academic competitions. The program encourages and rewards academic excellence among students of all ability levels. It provides an environment conducive to learning, where individual leadership, cooperation, and peer support are incorporated as motivators. Teamwork is the heart of the Academic Pentathlon. SJCOE sponsors the Annual Regional Academic Pentathlon in the spring of each year. Every San Joaquin County School, public or private, may enter up to two nine-member teams per grade level.
