SJC SELPA Community Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is to improve and promote communication between schools, parents, and public agencies to increase community awareness, facilitate parent education and support, and coordinate activities on behalf of children with exceptional needs. The CAC serves a crucial role in the review and evaluation of the special education program, providing valuable input to the master plan, and assisting in the development of parent information materials and awareness activities about disabling conditions.

Membership is composed of parents appointed by school district boards, educators, and representatives from public and private agencies within the San Joaquin County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). Our business meetings are held at the San Joaquin County Office of Education, Wentworth Education Center, located at 2707 Transworld Drive in Stockton.

Our CAC meetings include topic presentations and/or business discussions. These meetings are open to the public, providing an opportunity for parents and community members to discuss specific concerns and issues. We encourage all interested parties to attend and participate in our efforts to support and enhance special education services in our community.

For questions, contact the SJC SELPA at 209-468-4925.
