Comprehensive Health
The San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) Comprehensive Health department fosters student health, wellbeing, and resiliency by providing programs that support learning, such as after-school and other expanded learning programs, nutrition, health education, tobacco-use prevention, mental health student services, violence prevention, human trafficking prevention, substance abuse prevention programs, suicide prevention, oral health services, and school nursing. Part of the SJCOE's Professional Learning and Support branch, the goal of the department is to build the capacity of local-, regional-, and state-level educators through renowned professional development and technical assistance. Comprehensive Health works with the community and statewide partners to provide optimal services for students and families. The department also provides LEA Medi-Cal billing services through SEIS Billing and compliance support to assist districts and county offices of education in maximizing federal reimbursement.
