The San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) supports the 14 local school districts and charter schools in San Joaquin County to ensure equitable and accessible education for all students.
The SJCOE is focused on improving teaching and learning countywide, and to positively impact student achievement through instructional leadership and district systems of support.

Business Services provides a host of services to county office programs, local school districts, charter schools, and others to ensure responsible fiscal management of public funds. Services range from payroll and accounting, to auditing and benefits management.
CodeStack is a software engineering and media department focused on web, mobile, and software application development; graphic and multimedia design; and video production. The team also oversees CodeStack Academy, Stockton's first immersive coding school.
The College and Career Readiness department is dedicated to empowering and preparing students in our region for successful transitions to post-secondary education, training, and the workforce.
The Comprehensive Health department fosters student health, wellbeing, and resiliency by providing programs that support learning, such as after-school and other expanded learning programs, nutrition, health education, tobacco-use prevention, mental health student services and violence prevention.
The Continuous Improvement and Support department provides a variety of services tailored to the needs of districts and schools, including support with data analysis, assessments, strategic planning, accountability, and targeted assistance. In addition, the department organizes networks, workshops, trainings, and events to equip educators with valuable tools, resources, and the latest insights to elevate student learning.
The Curriculum and Instruction departments specialize in providing expert support to school districts and charter schools in curriculum and instruction for history/social science, mathematics, language and literacy, and STEM.
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (DEIA) department provides leadership and program guidance to the San Joaquin County Office of Education and the county's 14 school districts to ensure sustainability of change initiatives regarding equity, access, culturally and linguistically responsive learning and work environments.
The Early Education and Support department offers quality early learning and care services through center-based and home-based programs, provides support services for educators and families, and improves the lives of children in our community. The department also oversees Head Start San Joaquin.
The Foster and Homeless Youth Services department provides educational advocacy and services for San Joaquin County foster and homeless youth.
The Human Resources Department of SJCOE serves the employment needs of each of its programs and departments spanning the full scope of services from recruitment to retirement.
Migrant Education provides services based on the needs of migrant students and available resources within school districts.
Operations services include risk management, facility maintenance, vehicle services, facility rental, building operation, new construction, emergency operations, and remodeling of existing structures.
On any given day, the SJCOE main campus is bustling with skills training sessions, professional growth opportunities, communities of practice, continuing education and career development instruction.
The San Joaquin County Office of Education operates as the administrative unit for the San Joaquin County SELPA (SJC SELPA), which is a multi-district, collaborative SELPA designed to ensure special education programs are available for all students with disabilities.
Special Education Programs serves students with disabilities not otherwise served in the school districts that make up the San Joaquin SELPA, primarily for students diagnosed with autism, visual impairment and deaf and hard of hearing, intellectual disability, multiple disabilities, and students with emotional disability.
The San Joaquin County Office of Education STEM Programs department provides innovative programs that empower students, educators, and regional communities to engage in learning experiences integrating science, technology, engineering and math.
The Student Engagement and the Arts department coordinates many opportunities for students to compete, showcase, and participate in academic competitions countywide. The department also oversees the Artists-in-Schools program and the Color the Summer Arts Camp.

The Workability I program, overseen by the SJC SELPA department, is designed to empower individuals in special education with their career development by providing comprehensive support and resources tailored to meet diverse needs. The program's goal is to enhance employability, promote skill development, and facilitate successful transitions into the workforce.
