Head Start San Joaquin Governing Board and Policy Council

The Head Start San Joaquin (HSSJ) Governing Board is responsible for program administration and oversight. The board uses ongoing monitoring results, data on school readiness goals, and other information as described in the Head Start Act to conduct its responsibilities.

2025-2026 Governing Board Meeting Schedule

Program governance is shared with a Policy Council that consists of parents and caregivers of currently and formerly enrolled children, and local community representatives. Both play vital roles in the decision-making process. Together, the Governing Board and Policy Council create a formal structure of governance that ensures a quality and compliant program.
