SJCOE hosts Second Annual State of Education
At the second annual San Joaquin County State of Education event on Wednesday, April 29, the community came together in celebration of public education in the county, which is home to 14 school districts serving more than 155,000 students. Organized by the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) in partnership with county school districts, the event highlighted initiatives in local schools focused on science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math education. Community leaders, elected officials, and representatives from local agencies joined with the county’s educational community for the event held at Franklin High School (Stockton Unified School District).
“Education is the foundation of a strong community and the key to developing lifelong learners,” said San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Troy Brown. “As we continue moving Full STEAM Ahead, we are proud to recognize the innovation, creativity, and dedication found across all 14 school districts, charter schools, and San Joaquin County Office of Education programs.”
With the theme of “Education for All: Full STEAM Ahead,” the program featured recent efforts by the SJCOE, local school districts, and charter schools across three focus areas: STEM, art, and STEAM.
Photos from the event will be posted to the SJCOE social media pages. Learn more about the 2026 State of Education and past events at the State of Education webpage.
