Outdoor Education Raffle Winners Announced

San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Troy Brown drew the three winning tickets in this year's Outdoor Education Raffle:

1. First Place ($3,500): Annie Marie Soto (ticket sold by Brock Elliott Elementary, Manteca Unified School District)
2. Second Place ($1,000): Rodney Clements (ticket sold by Weston Elementary School, Ripon Unified School District)
3. Third Place ($500): Jazmin Gutierrez (ticket sold by Venture Academy, San Joaquin County Office of Education

All San Joaquin County schools were invited to participate in the raffle coordinated by the SJCOE Educational Foundation (SJCOEEF). This year 15 schools participated, selling 14,234 tickets, and raising a total of $71,170.

Founded in 1955, the SJCOEEF provides additional funding to student events and competitions– including the Academic Decathalon, Girls Coding Network, County Art Show, Science Olympiad, Spelling Bee, and many more– with the single focus of upgrading these programs for the benefit of all San Joaquin County students.
