SJCOE Tech Summit Brings Technology into the Classroom

Educators will learn in hands-on sessions from colleagues and tech experts how to use more technology in their classrooms to help students learn

Teachers, administrators, curriculum leaders, and other school staff members will come to the 2018 San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) Tech Summit on Saturday, Sept. 8, to learn new ways to expand student learning by bringing more technology into the classroom.

This year's "Full STEAM Ahead!" theme puts a new focus on the arts, including presentations to help educators merge technology and art in their classrooms. Back this year are "takeaway" sessions allowing educators to learn how to use a piece of new technology they will then be able to keep. It's a chance to sample new technology. These sessions include learning how to take a virtual field trip using Google Cardboard, learning how to use LittleBits electronic kits to teach engineering, and how to engage students using a 360-degree camera.
