Congratulations to Kristen Vessie, the December 2019 Educator of the Month from the San Joaquin County Office of Education’s (SJCOE) Special Education Programs! Kristen has worked as an adaptive physical education special education teacher (APE) at the SJCOE since 2018. Here is what Kristen has to share about her experience:
What do you love about teaching? I love the students and the opportunity to learn as much as I can about each and every one of them.
Why did you choose a career in education? I chose a career in education because it is always changing and evolving. I enjoy the challenge and hard work required of me.
What makes a good day at school for you? A good day at school for me is when I see a student smile after doing their “burpees.”
In which other teachers’ class would you like to enroll in even for a day? Why? Janae Dyon because she has fun equipment in her room and Josh Medeiros because he has the best interactive P.E. class.
