Registration Open for 2018 SJCOE Tech Summit

Back on Sept. 8, the Tech Summit helps educators incorporate more tech in the classroom

Now is the time to register for the Third Annual SJCOE Tech Summit, where teachers, administrators, curriculum leaders, and IT staff members come together to learn how to incorporate more technology in the classroom. With this year's "Full STEAM Ahead!" theme we'll be adding a new focus on the arts. There will be a selection of sessions designed to help you bring together art and technology, from sharing new ideas in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) education to tech tips that will help any educator bring the arts to life at school. Learn more and register at the SJCOE Tech Summit Website.

The summit will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the San Joaquin County Office of Education's Wentworth Education Center, 2707 Transworld Dr., Stockton, CA 95206.

Keynote Speaker

We are proud to announce that our keynote speaker for the 2018 SJCOE Tech Summit is Kevin Honeycutt, a teacher and change agent on a mission to prepare kids for their future and to empower teachers to do the same.

Since 2007 he has hosted a creative learning site called ArtSnacks where he shares 10-minute drawing videos that support standards curriculum. This social “learning” network is his Petri-dish for learning to mentor teachers and students in virtual environments. He was selected to be in the Apple Distinguished Educator class of 2011 and spends time helping schools that use Apple’s powerful tools get the most out of them for students and teachers.

Since 2003 he has been a Technology Integration Specialist at ESSDACK, an educational service center based in Hutchinson, Kansas. At ESSDACK he researches and designs programs, training and staff development with a strong passion for helping teachers and learners become successful with educational uses of technology. He shares his thinking and learning on his blog Tradigital Learning and in his podcast Driving Questions in Education.
