LCAPs
The finance system for K-12 education in the state of California is known as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). One of the major components of the LCFF is the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support student outcomes that address local and state priorities.
The 10 state priorities are as follows:
- Basic Services
- Implementation of State Standards
- Parental Involvement
- Pupil Achievement
- Pupil Engagement
- School Climate
- Course Access
- Other Pupil Outcomes
- Expelled Pupils (county offices of education only)
- Foster Youth (county offices of education only)
The local priorities are determined through the LCAP process that includes input from the community.
