The San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical coverage and retirement plans.Health, dental, and vision rates for the current school year are available below by classification in PDF format.

Medical/Dental/Vision

The SJCOE provides up to $1,275.00 per month toward Medical, Dental, and Vision premiums for eligible permanent employees and their dependents. For employees working less than full-time (e.g., 6 hours per day), this contribution is prorated accordingly.

The annual open enrollment period to change your health coverage usually begins in late July. The health benefit plan year is from October 1 through September 30.

CVT Benefits

CVT Benefits are available to all SJCEA-represented teachers and retired teachers.

Substitute/Temporary Employees

Annually all Substitute and Temporary employees are offered health coverage through SJCOE at the employee's expense. Employees must either enroll or decline coverage. Please email SJCOEpayroll@sjcoe.net to request an electronic declination of coverage form. If you choose to enroll in the SISC 2-Tier HSA Plan (Non Sub Teachers) or the CVT Anchor Bronze Plan (Sub Teachers only), email SJCOEPayroll@sjcoe.net to request an electronic enrollment form. Listed below are the retirement systems for SJCOE employees. Contact Payroll Services with any questions you may have regarding your retirement at SJCOEPayroll@sjcoe.net.

SJCOE employees are eligible to participate in 403(b) and 457(b) tax-sheltered retirement plans. Numerous 403(b) plans are available; refer to the 403b Compare website for a list of participating vendors. Representatives from American Fidelity and Empower are on site monthly and are available to meet with employees.
