The SJCOE Public Information Office annually publishes the Fall and Spring San Joaquin County High School Honor Roll. All high schools in San Joaquin County are eligible and encouraged to participate.

Twenty-two outstanding graduating seniors from San Joaquin County high schools have been awarded a total of $65,000 to continue pursuing their education.

The North Central Valley STEM Center (NCVSC) named Joell Russell as the Albert Brocchini Memorial STEM Teacher of the Year, recognizing the John C. Kimball High School teacher for her work engaging students and promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education. She teaches human physiology and enhanced biology at the school, which is part of the Tracy Unified School District.

The 14th Annual San Joaquin County Math Tournament for grades seven through eight was held on Saturday, May 9, at the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE). The competition drew 173 students on 31 teams from 25 San Joaquin County schools.

The County Art Show was recently held at the San Joaquin County Office of Education, bringing together student artists, educators, and families to celebrate creativity and achievement across our region. The event showcased an impressive range of student artwork, highlighting the talent, perspective, and dedication of young artists from throughout the county.

Teams from high schools and colleges competed in the Ninth Annual H₂O Hackathon coding competition at the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) on Saturday, May 2, racing to design an app to help local communities better understand California’s water supply. In a second category, teams created engaging multimedia campaigns highlighting the importance of staying informed about the state’s ever-changing water situation.

At the second annual San Joaquin County State of Education event on Wednesday, April 29, the community came together in celebration of public education in the county, which is home to 14 school districts serving more than 155,000 students.

89 students from across the state competed at the State Elementary and Junior High Spelling Bee, hosted by the San Joaquin County Office of Education.
