Middle School Honors Concert
The Honors Concert is an annual event featuring the county’s most gifted and talented middle school band and choir students. It is co-sponsored by the San Joaquin County Office of Education, Delta Community College and the San Joaquin County Music Educators’ Association. Participation is open to all middle school band and choir directors and their students in San Joaquin County.
The concert is held at the Delta Center for the Arts, Warren Atherton Auditorium, San Joaquin Delta College in March. This concert is graced by a list of distinguished guest conductors representing the very best high school music educators from San Joaquin County.
The concert, an annual event, attracts an audience from throughout San Joaquin County and is open to the public free of charge. We are proud to offer musical events, such as this, to students of our area for over 50 years.
Applications and materials are available online to all middle school directors starting in September of each school year. Student membership for band and orchestra is by tape/CD audition. Acceptance to the Honor Choir is by live audition. The fee schedule is $45 per school ensemble, plus a $10 per student fee.

Guest Conductors
2012 Middle School Honor Band Conductor will be Desiree Bugarin of Lathrop High School.
2012 Middle School Honor Choir Conductor will be Paul Kimball of Lincoln High School.
2012 Middle School Honor Orchestra Conductor will be Goody Choi of Lincoln USD and Delta College.
