Individual assistance is available to all CalSTRS members, free of charge, who would like information about:

• CalSTRS member benefits
• Individual pension benefits and how they are calculated
• Additional service credit and how it can be purchased
• Choices in retirement options
• Retirement planning

CalSTRS Benefits Counselors, Robert Clemons, Charles Gritts, Joseph O'Dell, and Linda Patrick, currently offer services by individual appointments Monday - Thursday at the San Joaquin County Office of Education. Arrangements may also be made for a Benefits Counselor to visit your school site to conduct individual appointments.

Also available are CalSTRS Pre-retirement Benefit Overview Workshops for those just seeking general information regarding CalSTRS programs and benefits. These are conducted in a group setting and may be held at your school site.

CalSTRS Benefits Counselors are able to conduct Group Appointment Workshops, which provide information on CalSTRS programs, training on how to estimate retirement benefits and, hands-on experience in using CalSTRS web site resources, including the on-line benefit calculator.
