At the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE), we believe that every student regardless of circumstances, should have the opportunity of a quality education. To that end, SJCOE directly serves some of our community’s most needy students – children of migrant families, homeless youths, severe special needs, and at-risk youth – through our special education and community school departments. Our programs are not limited to operation within San Joaquin County. SJCOE’s successful track record of bringing innovative solutions to issues both inside and outside the classroom, has helped it become recognized throughout the state as an educational leader. Our Center for Educational Development and Research provides clients statewide with solutions to educational administrative needs by use the latest Internet technologies. Working with the California Department of Education, SJCOE’s Assessment Projects helps organize, develop, and distribute assistance packets related to the statewide STAR, CAHSEE, CELDT, Physical Fitness, NAEP, and CHSPE tests. Two resources allow SJCOE to be successful. The first is our community. It is because of the great partnerships we have with other community leaders that many of our programs get off the ground and sustain themselves. From elected officials and institutions of higher education, to local student groups and businesses, SJCOE works with a variety of partners to bring innovative and problem-solving programs to our area. The second resource that allows SCJOE to succeed is our dedicated staff. All employees are encouraged and empowered to accomplish goals and find new ways to serve students.
