Career Vocational Resource Material Lending Library A lending library of assorted materials to complement classroom activities is available for check out to all teachers served by our programs.
Career Vocational Staff
Career Vocational Staff provide consultation to school site staff in areas of vocational screening, career exploration, life skills curriculum, and community based instruction. Information on local resources such as public transportation, the Department of Rehabilitation, Social Security Administration, Worknet and Valley Mountain Regional Center is also available. Job training and coaching to assist with the transition to independent employment is provided to students, when appropriate, through Workability I Grants. The San Joaquin County Office of Education SELPA WorkAbility I program provides support, curriculum and funding to participating teachers who provide an array of pre vocational and vocational services through classroom instruction to special education students who are 12 to 22 years of age. Special education students with the SELPA who meet WorkAbility I guidelines and are 16 to 22 years of age may participate in paid placement at various community businesses that serve as training sites.
