State Assessment Projects

The San Joaquin County Offfice of Education Assessment Projects Office organizes work with the California Department of Education to provide specialized communications for the California state assessment systems in developing the most comprehensive and effective means of communicating assessment information and providing technical assistance to the field.

SJCOE sets up and conducts meetings, training and workshops, and supports the development and appropriate use of CDE communications documents pertaining to assessment. SJCOE provides advice and technical expertise in meeting the sepcific needs of classroom teachers, schools, and school districts, including the development of informational materials that help individuals interpret and use assessments in ways that improve instruction. California's overall assessment system consists of eight separate assessment programs. Communications to the field is designed for the California Assessment System as an overall system and for each assessment programs. SJCOE disseminates communication materials through printed materials, the internet, e-mail, video and video conferencing.
