Student Events and Activities

The office of Student Events and Activities coordinates regional student-centered events and competitions with the purpose of encouraging and supporting academic excellence. Each event targets a different cadre of talented students and each school within San Joaquin County, public or private, is welcome to participate. Annual events include the Academic Decathlon, Science Olympiad, Fine Arts Day, County Spelling Bee, Academic Pentathlon, and Mock Trial.

Event upgrades are made possible thanks to generous donations made by the SJCOE Education Foundation. Grants from the Foundation enhance events like Fine Arts Day by providing a live symphony performance and allow for trophies and medals to be awarded to participants. The SJCOE Foundation also helps pay to send the winners of county competitions to state and national tournaments.
