SB472 and Other Professional Development Training

The San Joaquin Reading Implementation Center offers 40-hour/five-day SB 472 professional development institutes. The center also offers other options for instructional material training including 18-hour/three-day, 12-hour/two-day, and six-hour/one-day sessions. Teacher and administrator modules are available in three-hour increments and can be stacked for a full day or multiple day institute. All institutes are specific to the state-adopted reading/language arts programs (K-6).

Institutes are planned and centrally located throughout the San Joaquin Valley. Participants study all components of the program and learn how each component works together to create a complete, comprehensive program. In addition, the participants learn scientific research behind the program as it relates to actual classroom practices.
