Public Information Office

The SJCOE Public Information Office received its first dedicated full-time staff in Sept. of 2003. Since that time it has grown to serve both internal and external communication needs at the County Office of Education. Since that time, the efforts of the Public Information Office have been recognized by the California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA) and National Schools Public Relations Association (NSPRA).

The Public Information Office produces the SJCOE Annual Report, Public Schools Directory, Guide to SJCOE, Outlook newsletter, and a variety of other publications. PDF copies of each can be found by clicking the “publications” link above. To foster internal communication, the Public Information Office developed and launched INSIDE SJCOE in the fall of 2005. This internal website provides one spot for County Office staff to share information amongst staff and externally with the community.

Media Relations for all SJCOE programs is also handled by the Public Information Office and involves responding to reporter inquiries as well as helping promote individual program achievements and newsworthy information.
