Scholarships available for local students

The 2014-15 Lincoln Center Scholarship program applications are now available. Six San Joaquin County high school seniors received scholarships from the Lincoln Center Scholarship program in 2013-14. The recipients were: David Alvarado Rivera, McNair High School; Joey Blanchard, Tokay High School; Anthony Madrid, St. Mary’s High School; Emily Schneider, Tokay High School; Matt Tudor, St. Mary’s High School; and Vanessa Viramontes, Edison High School.

The Lincoln Center Scholarship program promotes and supports the educational growth of students living in San Joaquin County. The scholarships were funded through the proceeds generated at the Lincoln Center LIVE! Classic Car Show held in August 2014. Last year, $4,500 in scholarship money was awarded.

Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors graduating in the class of 2015. All high school seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher attending school in San Joaquin County (public, charter, private, etc.), can apply for the scholarship.  Applications are due on January 5, 2015.
