The students from Venture Academy Family of Schools who rode their horses to victory in a state equestrian competition walked into a recent meeting of the San Joaquin County Board of Education.
The board started its regular meeting by recognizing the Historic Durham Ferry equestrian drill team, which took first place in the Novice Division of the California Coto Cup over the summer.
