Annual Fair embraces Next Generation Science Standards by including engineering component to competition

WHAT:                    The 57th Annual San Joaquin County Science and Engineering Fair

WHO:                       This year, nearly 30 schools in San Joaquin County have already registered. The San Joaquin County Science and Engineering Fair will feature more than 400 science projects submitted by students in San Joaquin County ranging from grades K-12.

WHEN:                   

Friday, February 27 to Thursday, March 5

Thursday, March 5 (5:30-6:00 p.m.: Project Viewing • 6:00-7:30 p.m.: “MAD SCIENTIST” performance and Awards Ceremony)

*All above events are open to the community and media.   

This spellbinding special event includes sub-zero substances in action.  Come experience what true Artic cold is like.  Kids will be exposed to a variety of experiences such as frigid metal crying out in agony and the explosive expansions of matter. 

Monetary awards will be given to students in various categories including awards for projects relating to Environmental sciences.  Teachers who attend will be entered to win one of 10, $100 NSACO gift cards.  The evening will end with the announcement of the Sweepstakes winners and which student projects have qualified to participate in the California State Science Fair in May.
