S.J. educators, staff learn about gender identities

STOCKTON – Lori Duron’s youngest son didn’t obsess about Bob the Builder or Thomas the Tank Engine or any of the other toys that you’d typically find in the boys section of a store’s toy department.
"Barbie was the toy who finally spoke to him,” the author and keynote speaker said at a training session for preschool teachers and other staff of the Head Start Child Development Council on Monday. “He is a boy who is a girl at heart,” she said of her son, C.J., who is now 7 years old.
