The San Joaquin County Office of Education Educational Foundation has received a scholarship donation of $11,000 from CB Merchant Services for the 2013-2014 scholarship year. The CB Merchant Services Business Scholarship is shared among 22 participating high schools in San Joaquin County where one student from each high school is awarded a $500 scholarship. The award criteria specifies the graduating senior must show interest in pursuing a college education, or advanced training, in the field of business or a business related major. In addition to the desire to major in business, the student should have demonstrated the ability, interest, and enthusiasm for the field of business as a high school student. This could have been accomplished in a class or classes in high school, employment, or individual entrepreneurship. It is the hope of CB Merchant Services that this donation will assist students in obtaining further education that will ultimately contribute to the population of responsible business people in San Joaquin County communities. CB Merchant Services’ continued choice to promote education and benefits to local high school youth with this generous contribution is one to be commended.
