YouthBuild San Joaquin students lent their helping hands and hammers on November 4, through their donation of a shed to Raymus House, a homeless shelter in Manteca. The students constructed the shed as part of the first annual YouthBuild Construction Challenge.
Eighteen-year-old Derrick Ayson, who recently became a part of YouthBuild in August, says that he enjoys being involved in a program that helps others. “YouthBuild is so much more than just school,” says Derrick. “The program builds character and helps the community.”
