Paraprofessional Institute

The Paraprofessional Institute is a 15-hour series of professional development workshops designed for paraprofessionals who work with English Learners. The academic content is designed to advance the participants’ knowledge of English Learner topics as well as effective strategies used to teach the students. These strategies are modeled and explicitly discussed in order to expand the participants’ repertoire of teaching practices. An essential component of this model is the time given between sessions so participants have the opportunity to practice strategies that they are learning.
