Multilingual Education

The Multilingual Education Department provides professional development and technical assistance to teachers of English Learners. Programs are designed to support the development and practice of effective methods of teaching English Learners leading to academic success. Serving teachers throughout Northern California, our Bilingual Teacher Training Project (BTTP-13) specifically provides leadership to teachers in the metropolitian areas around Stockton, Modesto, and Sacramento as well as those teachers in the greater Sacramento Valley and Sierra Nevada geographic areas.

In addition to the services described above, SJCOE Multilingual Education provides leadership in the teaching of foreign languages and manages a Title VII Native American Indian Education program for students in Manteca Unified School District.
