What is a Direct Support Professional?

Direct Support Professionals provide guidance and support to developmentally disabled consumers and family members in Community Care Facilities (CCFs). Community Care Facilities (CCFs) are designed to allow the developmentally disabled consumers and family members to live as independently as possible.

Direct Support Professionals must complete training that provides skills necessary to meet the needs of the developmentally disabled consumers and family members, and ensure their health and safety.
