The San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) provides School Based Mental Health Promotion Services designed to foster mental health among school age children and youth in San Joaquin County
In coordination with school district Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) Coordinators, SJCOE provides school based mental health screenings for children and youth by providing early intervention counseling and case management services as well as research validated curriculum by some sites. SJCOE will also coordinate Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper Training of Trainers for Suicide Prevention efforts, as well as assist with coordination of the Yellow Ribbon Campaign for implementation at one identified site within each of the participating school district
